One sweltering day in July.
The Anadem Project continues. Jeannie and I took a break because of our own busy schedules but were able to find an opportunity to shoot together again. This time round, we opted for a black seamless background to shake things up and to introduce a deep contrast to the images. Our model was Esther Chung.
Before the shoot.
Working on the Anadem Project is always a breath of fresh air. Starting last August, Jeannie and I have collaborated on a series of floral portraits. Jeannie, as the floral aficionado, draws inspiration from the personalities and unique spirit of individuals to choose floral arrangements that become a crown (anadem) that can be worn by our models. I then work with each individual to draw out moody and dreamy expressions to create these portraits. These shoots are a great reminder of the power of collaboration where the synergies of creative thought bring about an even greater piece of art than if one were to work alone. In this series, I've included some behind the scenes and candids to reveal what our working session looks like.
